• The Leland Trail provides a 28mile route across South Somerset from Alfred’s Tower to Ham Hill.
• This joins the Liberty Trail, which continues a further 28 miles through Dorset to Lyme Regis.
• The Parrett Trail follows the course of the River Parrett for 50 miles from it’s source in Dorset, through South Somerset across The Levels to it’s mouth in Bridgwater.
• Monarch’s Way
• McMillan Way
• Four packs of circular walks are currently available from the S.S.D.C. Tourist Board; each contains 10 rambles of between 3 and 7 miles.

Cycling
The South Somerset Cycle Route follows the quietest and prettiest lanes for an 80mile circular tour and links with the Wiltshire and Dorset routes and the Sustrans national network. It can be done in stages or adapted using suggested diversions into nearby towns.  

Golfing  - There are  6 Golf Courses within 12 miles of Slipper Cottage, these are:-  
Long Sutton – 7 miles, Yeovil – 7 miles, Cheddington Court – 10 miles, Sherborne – 10 miles, Wheathill – 12 miles, Windwhistle – 12 miles.
